Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Well, it’s a new year, another chance to live our lives in a way that could be more meaningful then the last year. Now is a time when we look forward, make goals, make hopeful predictions as to where we will be by the end of this new year. Perhaps there are some of you didn’t have a great year in 2013 and 2014 could be that opportunity to make up for past mistakes, to make resolutions that will benefit your heart and soul. Perhaps a new year is exactly what you need because deep down everything didn’t turn out the way you wanted in 2013.
I believe on some level, every human being on this planet may feel this way. Of course there are choices we made in the past that didn’t turn out so well for us. Of course there are areas in our lives that we have experienced failure, heartache, sorrow and pain. This life is full of those kinds of things, whether we have caused them of not. Sometimes it feels like things are out of control, but the one thing that we can control is our attitude. I think that’s why we see so many of the “resolutioneers” out there. We want to better ourselves. Be more prepared. Be ready for the next challenge. Strive and thrive in areas where we were barely alive. You see it every year. People wanting a new second chance. Another opportunity. We hunger for this.
Christ wants to satisfy your hunger for all things new. He wants to be the one who comes in and takes those mistakes you made in the past and erase the guilt and shame from your life. On top of that, he wants to replace that old nature with a new one. A one that will choose to make the righteous decisions because it wants to. We were made to live in an eternally constant new state, but as you know, sin messed that up and Jesus Christ is the only one that can help you better yourself.
So I urge you my brothers in sisters, may the lyrics above be your prayer this 2014. May you cast all you cares, concerns, burdens, goals, hopes, and dreams upon Him who is worthy and able to do all things. Trust Jesus and follow His every step in the area’s you suffer from. He has come to make all things new, and that includes you.
Happy New Years my friends!
