Angels We Have Heard On High

Have you ever wanted something so bad and for so long, that the moment you receive word that it is coming, you get so excited you can’t even contain it? You burst with energy! You’re spirit is high! The world seems like it’s the most beautiful thing you have ever seen! I think of a child whose told on their birthday that they are going to Disneyland. The rush of joy over them. The look on their face. Nothing could make them happier. Can you remember a time like that? Either in the distant past of the recently?

When the angels announced Christ’s coming I believe, all creation rejoiced! Just like that child, a rush of joy and excitement filled all of creation! Angels, heaven, earth, shepherds, the kings, Mary and Joseph knew the glory of the messiah was coming! The glory of the King was going to walk the earth bringing salvation with every step. Amazing!! Yet it seems that the only ones left out, were the rest of us….

People like those that never saw it coming. That never cared to look. That never knew they needed saving. Those that expected something else, perhaps their own answer to their problem. Those that would rather have something else than a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes. Those that were ignorant. And the truth is that this world is still filled with people like this. And what’s even more sad, is that the rest of us that know about Christ tend to slip back into this state of ignorance.

I know for myself, I need to be reminded that the most wonderful powerful amazing thing was given on that day. Much more that just a baby, but a savior of my heart and soul, a reason to rejoice and to have hope. This time is much more than just a holiday season but rather a time to join in all of creation in the continual song of glorifying the one who came to save.

Dig deep my friends, fill your hearts with hope and remember the gift that Jesus was, is, and will be to you and this world. Find your heart joining in with the song gloria, in eccelsis deo!!

Be Blessed my friends!

Exalted One

Whether you realize it or not, people, in general, make decisions based off of something or someone they have placed in a high authority over their lives. This authority could be anything from yourself, to your friends, to money or food. All these authoritative figures effect anything from what you eat to what you wear to what you want to do for the rest of your life. Any and every decision is means to get to an end that you choose. The fact of the matter is that we are created to be goal oriented beings, to always be on the move and to strive for the next step. Now, by the grace of God, if that goal or next step is positive or negative or neutral, that is our God given right to decide. But no decision is without consequence and consequence is where we find either the treasure or death.

The bible says that above all the ebb and flow of life God is positioned as a King that rules over all. And the thing about God positioning his excellence and authority of all creation is that it can never be changed, challenged, or overcome. He is the end all be all. Meaning that there is nothing that we can choose to do that will take away or add to all of His power, glory and strength. He is and forever will be King exalted over all of EVERYTHING. So what does this mean for us? Is He just some distant king that just barks orders at His lowly servants? And we come groveling at His every whim? Well, the truth is there is nothing we can do that can place Him in a higher position over all creation and he doesn’t need us to… but he wants us to. And that’s where choice comes in.

We all have the ability to choose our own path , to follow our own ways, to exalt whatever and whomever in our lives. We can be like loose cannons wayward and directionless scattered across a battlefield. Everyone doing their own thing and everyone meeting their demise as a result of choosing sin. And what does God do? Send His son to this battle field to be an example and provide a path that will lead to direction and purpose, a path that leads straight to the Father, the King of all creation. Yes, He doesn’t need us, but He wants to save us and show us that there is a choice now that leads to love and life with Him. He doesn’t force His way in. He is patient, sitting on the throne of all Glory and might, waiting you for you to look to Him and choose to exalt Him along with all creation in your own life and choices. I guess naturally the next question is will you exalt Him?

Be Blessed my Friends.
