My Everything

Hello my friends!

Welcome back to your regularly scheduled EoHG.

Before we jump in, check out this song!

There is something very sobering about coming to place in your life when you realize that every good thing that you have, had and will have is a gift from God. This thought can be very liberating and also very humbling. Cause not only do you realize that ultimately you are not in control but you eventually discover that that is a good thing!  Why? Because the sovereign God of all of existence is a God who wishes to lavish us with all of His love! He gives us what we need when we need it, even when we don’t realize it.  He will take care of us! And honestly, who is more qualified? No one is greater than He! He is rich in love and mercy. And He is always patient and kind! He is constantly opening His hand to us so that we might take hold of blessings beyond measure. But that’s the trick isn’t it? We have to take hold. We have to step up and obey. We have to take ownership of our inheritance and claim it as our own through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  Everything that is good for us where we are at now is waiting for us.

So, I challenge you to seek His face in all that you do! Look for those blessings, because they are there! Be faithful to the Lord for He is faithful! Make Him your everything and taste and see that He is good. In fact He is the only thing that is good.

Have a great rest of your week my friends.

Be Blessed

King of Heaven

Hello my friends!

So, i want to change it up a bit, and share a song that has rock’n my world!

Check it out!

In every way, we can not escape the meaning and gravity of the gospel. It speaks to us constantly, we just have to open our ears and catch that glimpse of heaven.

Have you ever been to movie where a hero against all odds overcomes adversity to defeat and destroy a evil that was putting everyone in mortal danger? Well of course you have! We go to countless movies like these. We love these movies. From Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter to Avengers. They engage our hearts and speak to us. They get us excited and when its all over we leave the movie satisfied!  This is a glimpse of the gospel!  Beneath all the graphics, characters, plot there is a reflection of the greatest story ever told! The story of us! The story of a people fallen from a great kingdom and with no hope of return. The story of how the king of these people choose to fall with them and against all odds rose above the evil that enslaved His people, winning His return to the throne and the return of His people to His kingdom! Doesn’t that sound EPIC!? This is who we are! We are hard wired to connect to stories such as these.

When I hear this song, it reminds me of that part in a movie where the hero walks away from the final battle triumphantly. He stands in glory holding the one he loves and then the credits start to roll. We are the loved ones He fought, died and rose again for! God has won it all for us and for His glory! He deserves all the praise, all the honor, all the glory! This song tells His story and it means everything to us!

Be encouraged my friends, we are loved far more abundantly and fiercely than we could ever imagine. We have a King of Heaven that fights for us and welcomes us into his kingdom eternal. There is hope and there is love for us all. We belong.  And we are a part of the greatest story ever told!

Christ Is Enough

Hello again my friends!

Check out this lovely song!

The truth is, everyone searches for things in this life in the hopes that these things will complete us and often we seem to look in all the wrong places. Whether its about obtaining money, relationships, safety, security, or completing dreams, we will go to the ends of the earth if we deem it worthy of being able to fulfill us. But unfortunately it will all amount to nothing in the end. (I know, a tough pill to swallow.)

What drives a person run hard after these things? What drives me? What drives you? I submit that at the core of every human being is a defaulted idea to strive for something more.  And also this something has, is and always shall be God. God is the reason we all exist. It is in His wisdom and Glory that He put us this earth and it is in His wisdom and Glory that we live. We live!! We move and breath and feel. We are like sponges, we take in every second of every day into our souls, our minds, our hearts. And whatever we deem good, we want more!! We are accustomed for more. Built for more.  That is EXACTLY how God designed us!

And the catch? (cause there’s always a catch right?) Sin has mangled our ability to discern with is enough for us.  By default now, we have a twisted idea as to what will make us happy.  Without clarity and guidance by the Holy Spirit, we run and chase after useless things, fake imitations, and deceiving mirages. Everything we chase after by our own accord will never ever be enough.

But guess what?? Heaven has a beautiful answer to your searching problems and has practically placed Him at your door step. Christ is the culmination of everything we are looking for, He is the bridge on which we have access to God Himself. Meaning we have access to something and IS enough for us! Last I checked, God is limitless in resources, love, power, grace and much more. He is enough for us.

But all this will never be enough for us, if we do not open that door and let Him in. If we never taste and see that the Lord is good we will be cursed to walk this land in a pursuit that will never satisfy. And for those of you that have opened that door, keep it open! Us humans, have a nasty habit of forgetting what’s important, of forgetting that He is important. So I say to you, abide in Him and continue a walk of fulfillment with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Be Blessed.
