Next up on the docket is a song we did a couple of weeks ago, Saviour of the World by Ben Canteleon! (I know saviour is spelled weird, but hey, its english like Ben Canteleon)
Check it out! 😛
Every now and then, I believe we, as a church, need a song that boasts of the EPICNESS of Jesus. A song that really captures the awesomeness and greatness of what Jesus accomplished with his life, death, and resurrection. I mean that line alone is epic. Think about it! No really, sit down somewhere quiet, and meditate on this…
Jesus, Son of God, the only hope for a fallen people, came to a destitute waste land full of darkness and ignorance. He knowingly placed Himself somewhere surrounded by darkness. The only light, the only hero worthy of taking on this threat of death and sin that was enveloping a people that were once His. He is a man on a mission fighting for a love that turned away from Him. A warrior poet, a tender and tough brawler, coming to break the mold with His bare hands and soul refreshing words. Every step, every turn, He faced opposition yet He remained faithful and strong even when all seemed lost. In the void, He proclaimed that the time has come for redemption, grace, mercy, and perfect love for all who believe. This proclamation resulted in the very people He went to save condemning him to death!! And at the very end, He had the guts and heart to say, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” WHAT!! What love is this?! What strong compassion bold epic Love is this?! To the ends of heaven and earth went after you and now He sits a Ruler of the Heavens, a King of grace, Jesus the Messiah. In spite of all we have done to Him, This mighty King STILL makes himself available to you!! EPIC.
Kinda makes you feel like you are worth something. Huh?
Before, we were ignorant, we were clueless, we were hopeless, we were loveless. Now, we are quite the opposite in Christ Jesus.
I think Its good to look back at our lives and all we see is the cross. Don’t you think? Thats what this song means to me. And I hope that it helps awaken in you, a deeper love and a respect for Jesus making the impossible possible.
